Good Afternoon everyone!
I am truly in the Spring mode and starting to
put out some things for the season.
I love to stack my old pewter compotes and
fill them appropriate stuff. The large eggs are
ones I dyed years ago (onion skins, blueberries,
etc.). Just hard boiled them, dyed them, and
put away in an air tight plastic box. Eventually
the inside of the egg just dries up. Hollis and I
tried the blowing out of the insides and it was
not fun and I think they are more fragile that way.
The egg in the top compote is paper mache that I
painted, distressed, waxed, and then tied with aged
gauze type fabric. Some of these will be on
ETSY soon, along with some other embellished eggs.

Well, on to my promise. My next "Give Away" is
this. One of my new Stitching Lady totes, the
Stitching Lady pattern, and a Stitching Lady mini
journal. All you have to do is become a Follower
and leave me a comment. I will randomly pick
a winner next Saturday. Good Luck!
I will be putting some more things on ETSY tonight.
Some old - some new - and a few special things.
Have a great evening with
Many Happy Stitches,
Sandra

ReplyDeleteLove all your eggs! I dyed eggs using onion skins many years ago, but they all eventually exploded and made a high STINK! They were so pretty because I layed grass & leaves on the shells and wrapped hosiery over it - leaving the imprint on the egg shell - they were SO pretty!

ReplyDeleteLove your pewter compote display. I am intriged by the hard boiled egg thing that you did. I have always blown my eggs out if I wanted to keep them. I agree they are more fragile.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the egg smell as it is going through the rotten stage to the dried stage. Is that what the air tight container is about?
I love the stitching lady bag. I would love to be entered into the drawing as I have been a follower for some time now. Thank you for the opportunity.
