"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Have To Share

Good Evening Everyone!
I think I am finally on the mend from this
disgusting sinus, etc. thing I have had.  Not
totally gone but I can actually breathe for
a little while without some kind of medicinal
aid.  The bad news is I think Lehmer may be
coming down with it.  I sure hope not.  I would
not wish this on my worst enemy.
I'm sorry I have not been replying to your
comments.  I have been doing a little work
but beyond that not much has been done
around here.

Ever since Christmas I have wanted to share
one of my really unique Christmas presents.
Hollis and Paul gave me this.
It is an upright Lazy Susan of sorts.  It looks
like an antique but it is from Pottery Barn.  It
spins around and has many openings and little
drawers along the bottom.  I am slowly filling
it up with things that I use a lot, such as
herbs, sugars/sweeteners, salt, pepper etc.  I'll
have to find some more containers that will
fit in the openings.  Gives me a reason to go
antiquing (as if I needed one).  The only
problem I have had is that it had to go where
my coffee pot has been for the last 32 years.
Old habits are very, very hard to break.  I
have gone to that corner every morning to
fix the coffee.  Maybe tomorrow will be
the day that the habit is broken.  I feel so
stupid continuing to do this.
Well, I hope you have a good night.  Hope to
be sharing some needlework soon.
Many Happy Stitches,
Sandra

  1. Oh, I absolutely love it! Really? Pottery Barn...going to have to check that out. And I have a brown crock just like yours on my counter filled with antique utensils!
Glad you're feeling better. Happy Stitching

  2. That lazy susan is really unique! I laughed when I read how you keep going to that corner for your coffee. When we redid our kitchen we changed all the cupboards around. However I still go to one particular cupboard for my coffee mug each morning which is now filled with our dinnerware. You'd think that after a year I'd clue in!

  3. Very cool. Looks like something I would use in my sewing room and fill with pins and buttons and string, oh my :)

  4. I like that lazy susan, too! It would be a great place to store my cross stitching stuff in! Hmmmmm, maybe I'll have to make a trip over to Pottery Barn, too!
Have a nice weekend. Hope you are all feeling well!

  5. I love that Lazy Susan!
It is so nice when you get an "antiquey" type gift that you can actually use! Mind you, I love the other kind too, but if it is useful, it is particualarly nice!

  6. This sounds very cool and could be used in many areas, maybe not just the kitchen...

Glad you are on the mend.

  7. I hope you are feeling better! My husband and I had the great joy of sharing a terrible bout of the "ick" ourselves. It will go away, but be sure to take really good care of yourself. I can't wait to see what you have been working on as far as designs. Take care.
