Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Over the years I've been asked many times what I do with all of my needlework.  Obviously I couldn't possibly put everything I have designed in my house.  Much of my wall space is taken up with my collection of antique samplers, so that limits my framed pieces.  I do change out designs for the seasons, and I will share that with you when the time comes.  For now, I'll share with you some photos of some of my pieces in places other than the usual.  I think you'll notice from the pictures that my house is a mix of "traditional" and "country primitive".  My dining room and living room are definitely a mix of the two leaning toward "traditional", but the keeping room (family room), kitchen, breakfast room are all very much "country primitive".  I love both looks and am constantly trying to tie the two together.
Here goes.  I hope you enjoy!

That's it for today.  Let me know if you liked seeing these and I'll do some more.

Hope you are enjoying a day with
"Many Happy Stitches"

  3. It's always nice to see a little vignette with stitching it it! :D

I know what you mean; I don't think I'll ever be able to pick just one style.

  4. I just love your needlework pics. Your pieces are beautiful. Can't wait to see more.

  5. Thanks for sharing. I love the pictures of your home.

  6. I loved seeing your work! It always gives me ideas on how to display my own work when I see others. My home is also a mix of traditional and country primitive but until now my DH has won with mostly traditional. However the primitive is sneaking in everywhere, lol!

  7. Loved seeing your work. I love seeing different styles and the way it's displayed.

  8. Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all of your comments. It is so much fun sharing my love of needlework with all of you. Planning to do some more house shots soon.
Just a question though. Do you think it is better to do that sort of thing on a Picture Trail or is it OK to do what I did? I don't know how to do Picture Trail, so I will have to learn that too.

    To Lori,
Working really hard to make it possible to be at your Gathering. I will be so disappointed if I cannot come.

Hope all of you have a great weekend. Our weather is suppose to be delightful in Virginia. Can't wait, we all deserve it.

  9. I enjoyed seeing how you decorate with needlework! Everything is so pretty, and I would love to see more!

  10. It looks like it would be a real treat to visit your home. Delights for the eye everywhere you turn. You are blessed to live among all of those treasures.

  11. Just found your blog although I visit your website often. Pulled threads today for a Chritmas design of yours.

I love your blog - thank you so much for sharing.
