"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Valentine Wishes!

Good Morning Everyone!
Lehmer and I are getting ready for a really
busy weekend.  Little Avery will be
arriving here tonight and we will have
him to ourselves until Monday evening.
You know what that means, not a lot of
anything will be going on around here
unless it involves Avery.  Knowing that, I
wanted to send you my Valentine
wishes today.  I hope you all have
someone special to spend time with on
this sweet day.
As you know I try to decorate my kitchen
window with a seasonal theme.
Here is my Valentine window.
 Lehmer brought me those beautiful tulips yesterday.
So sweet of him and just in time for my window!
 My new design "A Love So True" nestled
with other red goodies~
 Don't you love that heart pincushion.  This was a
wonderful find years ago.  I opened a box at an
antique shop and there it was.  Needless to say that
box went home with me.  I added the little heart with
vintage white pins.
 Take a close look at that beautiful lace with even
more beautiful embroidery.  Another lucky find.
The old Valentines were mostly found in a box
of correspondence that my Grandma Rose kept.
She kept everything anyone ever sent her and
I was able to go through that huge paste board box.
 I definitely inherited her desire to save everything.
 Another great red pin cushion!
Hope you enjoyed my window tour~

I know I haven't been blogging much lately.  I've been
dealing with not feeling great and having to finish
my few designs for the Nashville Market.
Even though I am unfortunately not going to be
there in person, I will have three new designs
shown in distributor showrooms.  I'll be posting
here soon with the final pictures.
Stay tuned!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wishing you Valentine stitches
if you have the time,
Sandra
  2. I love your window with Valentine treasures. Your special pieces from the antique store and your grandmother are a find. I have my grandmother's sewing machine and found her measuring tape and pin booklets from the 50's tucked inside. Enjoy your weekend.
  4. I love watching to see what you do with your window. I'm envious because I have several cats who would never allow window decorating! :) I can easily picture you in an earlier time, in New York City perhaps, in a major department store, as a window decorator extraordinaire!
    I am amazed at the beautiful designs you continue to turn out, year after year.
    Have a LOVE-ly weekend!
