"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Winter Decorating

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Just a short post to share a few pictures of
"Winter" decorating at the Sullivan's.
I really don't do very much.  After the
mass decorating at Christmas, I just
can't muster the energy to do much at
all, but I thought you might like to
see the kitchen window just
one more time.  This is my go to place
to decorate because it is right in
front of my face off and on all day
and anyone who comes to our
house ends up in the kitchen.
(Click on pictures to enlarge)

 "Make Do" snowman from
olde thread spools

 Side door.  Can't bring myself to take
the wreath off of my sheep.  Too cute!
Love this "S" for Sullivan.  I decorated it
for Christmas and now it is adorned with
this great metal snowflake.  I hope this is
the only snowflake I see this winter.
Unlikely, but I like to dream~
 Keeping Room mantle~
If I could find my wonderful snowmen,
 they would be on this mantle.
I used them last winter and have stashed them
in a really "safe" place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's it.  There are a few more things I do like
changing candle colors and candle scents.  Minor little
things, but they mean winter to me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sandra

  2. Great decorating.
    Love the lanterns.
    I would leave the wreath on the sheep for as long as it lasts, it looks pretty.
    The "S" is nice also, great door decoration.
    I put everything Christmas away, but I always leave my Snowmen out until February.

  3. Love your kitchen window display! I like leaving my greenery up through winter to help bring some of the outdoors in when we are cooped up during the cold season. There seems to be a trend with things in "safe places" ; your the second post I've read this morning. Hehehe. Have a lovely day.

  4. So pretty! I love how you used bowls turned upside down in your kitchen window display. Keep the wreath on the sheep thru winter s my vote:)

  6. Thank you for all of your wonderful comments. To those of you who mentioned the white bowls, my intent was to make them look like hills of snow. If you look closely, you can see the fake snow on the window sill. Hopefully they are the only hills of snow we will be seeing.
