"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

I Have a Name!!

Good Evening Everyone!
I know you think I have closed up shoppe.  Not
completely, but close.  We have just been totally obsessed
with "baby stuff" and loving every minute of it.  Hollis had
a beautiful shower this past Saturday, hosted by some of
my wonderful and generous friends here in Fredericksburg.
It was all so sweet. I wanted to share with you some of the
things I have made for the baby.
My good friend, Ethel, gave me a set of "onesies" very
soon after I told her about the baby.  She said I was to
adorn them, so this is what I did.
I guess I have just announced his name as well.
Avery Paul
We just love it.

Also, I painted this little stool for him.  I was just
going to buy an unfinished stool from a craft store,
but Hollis and I were antiquing a few weeks ago
and found this old stool that someone had already
painted and was almost an exact match to the wall
paint.  How amazing is that!   Of course, it is a
little big for him now, but he will grow into it.

Hope you don't mind reading "baby news".  I promise
to have needlework news in a day or two.

Many Happy Stitches,
Sandra

  2. No way did we think that; though my heart moved towards my throat when my eyes caught the phrases "most of you" "closed up Shoppe"--so glad this wasn't really an announcement of such.

Love the onesies, especially the bunny. :D

Avery is such a handsome name; somehow it seems cute for a little on, but will be so distinguished when he is grown, too!

Hollis, also, seems unusual and elegant to me--if you don't mind me asking is it a family name?
