"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Happy Easter

Good Evening Everyone!
We had a wonderful day.  It was absolutely
beautiful in Fredericksburg - 90 degrees!
Actually it was a bit warm for me but I can
remember many cold Easters, so this was perfect.
I wanted to show you the cookies I made.
They are not very pretty, but very tasty.
When I make sugar cookies now, I add
about 3/4 of a cup of toffee/chocolate
mix to them.  It is so good.  The cutters are
olde ones, so they are a little misshaped but I
love them that way.  I sometimes wonder about
all the people who made Easter cookies
before me with these very same cutters.
I wish I could say I made this cake.  We have
a grocery chain in Fredericksburg called Aldi.
It is not your typical grocery store at all, but
they sometimes have some very unique items
during the holidays.  Many of these things are
imported from Germany.  You sheep lovers are
going to flip over this cake.
I sat him in a bed of paper grass on a cake pedestal.
He just looked so grand sitting there and then we
ate him.  How I would love to have that cake
mold.  Gives me something else to look for
on the internet.  Maybe by next Easter I can make
my own sheep cake for that little grandson of mine.
Oh, by the way, we might have a name soon.  I
cannot wait to share.

For those of you who have been asking, I hope to
 have good news about
"The Lord's Prayer" sampler this week.  Also,
we will start shipping the orders from the Online
Show tomorrow.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Easter.  I think
I am on a sugar high and feeling a little groggy,
so I will close for now.

  1. Happy Easter Sandra! Those cookies look scrumptious. I'm not sure I would have had the heart to cut into such a neat cake.
Hope you had an enjoyable day.
