"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Delivering Easter Wishes

Good Spring Morning To You!
Dropping by on this Friday before Easter to
wish each and every one of you a most glorious
Easter.  I hope it is going to be filled with love,
friends and family.  Lehmer and I will be
leaving early tomorrow to celebrate the
Easter weekend with our children
in Richmond.  Cannot wait to share Easter
fun with Avery.  This will be the first year
that he will actually participate in
some fun activities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today is going to be very busy indeed.  I
have lots of cooking to do.  Hollis is
hosting our Easter Brunch this year, but
I will be taking some food down.  We are
all pitching in, which always makes it
easier.  I'm making sugar cookies here
and then we will decorate them Saturday
night.  I'll definitely try to share some
pictures.  I'm really excited about
my Easter cake.  Hope it turns out as
planned.  Before I get started on all of
of "happy work", I want to share some
other pictures of Easter at the
Sullivan's.  Even though everyone
isn't coming here this year, I just can't
help myself.
Love to wrap my candles with something and
this lacey straw ribbon is perfect for Spring.
The candle is "Citrus and Sage" from
Yankee Candle.  Next to the Original scent
from Claire Burke (which I can hardly
ever find anymore), this is my favorite for
spring and summer.
Don't you love that sweet little basket~
 A "vintage" chick nestled with some wonderful
eggs I found in Wilmington, NC a few weeks ago.
Said I wasn't going to buy more Easter
stuff.  Never say ~ never!
 A cross stitch bunny that I did years ago~
 Chalk ware, celluloid, and metal.
"Olde" and much loved~
 More olde stuff!
The egg is one that I used to make and sell
in my shoppe.  It is painted papermache
and tied with ripped and aged scrim.
 Waxed eggs, lavender covered (done for me years ago by
my sweet friend Bobbie, and some eggs covered with
tansy annie ~ they smell so good!
 Don't you love this olde wooden painted egg.
Much of the design is gone, so I handle it
very carefully.
Tucked for safe keeping in a really big jar.  The
jar is filled with all the dried white roses that I
have been given (and bought for myself-haha).
They turn the most wonderful color.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you enjoy this season as much as I do.  Not
looking forward to all the much needed clean up
in the yard, but I guess that just goes with
the season.  Let's hope we all get to enjoy
a lovely Spring since the Winter was so hard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wish you a very special weekend.  Maybe we
can all squeeze in a few stitches, but if not,
that is OK.
Blessings to all of you,
Sandra
  8. Thank you everyone for your sweet comments. Sorry to be so long in responding. We had a wonderful Easter, but Avery was very sick with an awful virus, so I had to stay in Richmond to help. He couldn't go to daycare, so I had to take care of this sweet little boy. We still had a wonderful Easter and I have some sweet pictures to post in the next few days.
