"DESIGNS THAT REFLECT OUR
AMERICAN HERITAGE"

Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

Decorating With Needlework

Hi Everyone!
A little while ago I started sharing with you how
I like to decorate with my needlework.  Here
are a few more pictures.
Hope you enjoy!
 This is a wonderful toile tin bread tray in my
living room, filled with needlework smalls.
All of the needlework shown are my designs.
Here is my "Seek Joy~Stitch" stitched on
one of my pre-finished "Pin Pokes".
A few weeks ago Hollis and I were out
antiquing and I found this adorable
"vintage" wire basket.  Wish I had found it
before Easter.  Oh well, I'll have fun with it next
year.  Isn't it just the perfect way to display
another pincushion?

I'll be back soon with some updates on
new designs.  Hope you have a wonderful
week filled with
"Many Happy Stitches".

Decorating With My Needlework

Hi Everyone!
I've posted two pictures in a new group,
over the last few days.  I wanted to
share them with you too.
Do you like to find unique ways to
use your stitching in decorating
your home?
I know I do because I have certainly
run out of walls after 30+years of
designing.
Here are a couple of my ideas.
This is in my Guest Bathroom -
no room gets neglected in this
house.  I know my guests wonder
what in the world is this stuff, but
who cares, they are my little
treasures.  I enjoy looking at them.
And here are my Easter eggs.  Obviously I do like
to put "all of my eggs in one basket".
~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you love "primitive style" stitching, then
this is the Group for you.  You are going
to absolutely flip over all the stitching,
finishing ideas, and just general of love
of this style.  I highly recommend it!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have a great week.  I'll be in Richmond Monday
and Tuesday with little Avery.  Not much
stitching getting done when I'm there, but
I hope to work on next Needle Case when
he's napping.  Maybe I'll have something to
share when I get home.
"Many Happy Spring Stitches",

DECORATING WITH NEEDLEWORK

Over the years I've been asked many times what I do with all of my needlework.  Obviously I couldn't possibly put everything I have designed in my house.  Much of my wall space is taken up with my collection of antique samplers, so that limits my framed pieces.  I do change out designs for the seasons, and I will share that with you when the time comes.  For now, I'll share with you some photos of some of my pieces in places other than the usual.  I think you'll notice from the pictures that my house is a mix of "traditional" and "country primitive".  My dining room and living room are definitely a mix of the two leaning toward "traditional", but the keeping room (family room), kitchen, breakfast room are all very much "country primitive".  I love both looks and am constantly trying to tie the two together.
Here goes.  I hope you enjoy!

That's it for today.  Let me know if you liked seeing these and I'll do some more.

Hope you are enjoying a day with
"Many Happy Stitches"
