Welcome to my blog. I'm probably very much like all of you who love the needlearts. My life revolves around family, friends, home and all things that help to make for a more contented life. When time allows; cooking, gardening, decorating, and collecting are my joys. I look forward to sharing all of these things with you. I also hope to keep you up to date on what is going on at Homespun Elegance, in regard to the needlework designs and the "Plain & Fancy Wares" that we offer.

Wishing you "Many Happy Stitches".

A "Little Glimpse"

Good Evening Everyone!
Are you having a good day so far?  I was
home alone today so I was able to focus
on a few deadlines.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to everything
on my list.  That would have been a
miracle, but it would have been nice.
I did get to put the finishing touches on
two of my new designs.
If all goes well, I hope to release both
of these designs week after next.
Both of these are
 little summer projects that
you can stitch up in no time at all.
Both of these designs are stitched
on 20 Count "Kudzu" by
Weeks Dye Works, using three plies
over two threads.
The big reveal will be next week!!!
Until then

A "Little Glimpse"

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Hope you are having a great day.  It is hot and humid
here and we just had a thunderstorm which has
dropped the temperature a lot.  Thank goodness!
Thank goodness also, that for once, there were
no tornado or high wind warnings.
That seems to be the norm the last few years.
I remember when we use to look forward to
"the garden variety" of afternoon thunderstorm
to cool everything off.  Now I dread
thunderstorms and worry about what will come
with them.  Anyway, this one was OK.
I promised you a little glimpse of something new.
This is called
and you will surely be able to stitch this in time
for July 4th.
This was stitched on 20 Count "Putty" by
Weeks Dye Works using three plies over
two threads.  I used a variety of fibers,
but I always give you an
I hope you will like the finish.  A hint--
it will be something useful.
Well, back to work.  Hope you like it.

Time To Celebrate!

Good Evening Everyone!
I hope all of you are doing well.  I've been really busy
as usual, trying to do twenty things at once.  My
ability to focus has vanished.  Is there a medicine
out there that will bring that back, or is this another
sign of old age that cannot be corrected?
I hope not!
With Memorial Day upon us, it made me think of
all the patriotic designs that I have done through
the years. I will not bore you with all of them,
because there have been many, but here are a few.
There is still time to get something stitched by
July 4th.
"Blessed Freedom"
 "Love They Country"
 "Americans Care About Each Other"
 "Freedom House Button House"
 "Celebrate The USA"
This includes the frame~
 "Eve Be Patriotic"
 "Patriotic Landscape"
 "Crow Patriotic"
 "Peace To One And All"
Hope you find something to decorate your home
with for this July 4th.

Decorating With Needlework

Hi Everyone!
A little while ago I started sharing with you how
I like to decorate with my needlework.  Here
are a few more pictures.
Hope you enjoy!
This is a wonderful toile tin bread tray in my
living room, filled with needlework smalls.
All of the needlework shown are my designs.
Here is my "Seek Joy~Stitch" stitched on
one of my pre-finished "Pin Pokes".
A few weeks ago Hollis and I were out
antiquing and I found this adorable
"vintage" wire basket.  Wish I had found it
before Easter.  Oh well, I'll have fun with it next
year.  Isn't it just the perfect way to display
another pincushion?
I'll be back soon with some updates on
new designs.  Hope you have a wonderful
week filled with
"Many Happy Stitches".
